Hello, I'm the new one here. I've registered myself few days ago. I'm the owner of '93 318. Few months ago I've made a swap of engine ( the simplest one ;-)) from M40 to M42. Works perfectly.

OK. That was only my introduction.
Now my problem. Sometimes I'm upgrading my car and last time I've bought full OBC ( 13 buttons ) witch stalk, black box ( for CODE option ) and full wires.
I found a manual here: http://www.koalamotorsport.com/tech/e30 ... ng_obc.htm
and done everything step by step.. until (please take a look at the third photo) that information. The problem is that I haven't got those connectors in my ECU ( Motronic 1.7 )

Please help me maybe someone had the same problem or maybe will know how to solve it.

Aha ... and the last question. That OBC has a coding plug from 325i engine. Shows me still PPPP and CODE doesn't work - of course I was trying to disconnect the OBC for all night, remove fuse, remove plug, I've done all magic things - nothing helps.

I'm going to change plug dedicated to M42 engines.. How do you think it's good idea ?

Best Regards

Sorry for my weak English :?

Hi, thanks for so quick respond.
I'm David by the way :D. I'm not quite sure but datourer means touring, right ? If so, answer is - yes I've got one '93, 140PS with ABS, all power windows and sunroof, aircondition, heated seats and HI-FI sound system. And now with OBC almost ;-)

I know that description I've read it few times, but there is no information about this connector which I've been asking about. Nothing .. please take a look. Or I'm blind, really. I even cut open the 'jacket' of ECU to find that connector and there isn't one.

So, I've asked You. Please look carefully on the picture. Have you got something like this ??

XMon thank you very much. I found something in your article. You wrote "...3 Pin White Connectors (2 total)-> Connect together to create loop .." This is what I'm talking about. What are they for ?? Why loop ? Don't you think that they should be connected to ECU ( as you can see on the picture from my link ).

CODE option doesn't work in my computer maybe because I've got the loop made of those 2 connectors ? Unfortunately I didn't see any connectors leading from ECU ;-( I've got motronic 1.7

What should I do ?? HELP

I'm going to change the coding plug in OBC - how do you think - is this a right solution for my problem ( the PPPP in few options and unable CODE option ) ??

XMon maybe you've got any diagrams or any ideas what for are those two connectors with 3 wires. I've got Motronic diagrams so I'll made myself that connectors on ECU loom.
