my fuel gauge has just started playing up.

jumping from empty to full and back again and jittering all over the place in between.

any ideas guys?

fuel level sender got the same problem, ive done over 200 miles and its still full lol,

think it does that when its usually on its way out

for a temporary fix lift the back seat up locate where the sender is bang it a few times worked for little while for me

There is a brass nut on the back of the instrument cluster that works loose and gives small variations in the level shown by the gauge, but if the variations are large, it's probably the sender(s). The RH sender is usually damaged by muppets trying to remove the fuel pump without removing the sender first.
If your gauge works normally, but does odd things like show empty when the tank is still half full, or still reads half when the tank is empty, you probably have the wrong gauge fitted for the size of your fuel tank.

ok. i just had a hit at it and everytime i hit it the needle jumped on the guage from full to empty and back again.

it just started doing it as i was driving. what a pain
