Anyone got any hints and tips for looking after the hood on my cab? What should I wash it with weekly? Is just the general car soap I gonna be using on the rest of the car ok?

And with winter fast approaching [Noooooooo!!!], anything I should do during them shity cold months? I think I've said this before, but I was thinking of getting a car cover just to keep the frost off during the night...as its my daily car it'll only be on a short time so there would be no worries of damp etc would there?

What do you reckon?

I never use standard shampoo as it can wash the waterproofing and remove the colouring!
Avoid washing the roof, brush it lightly (preferably hoover it to remove the loose stuff) and then I use autoglym hood cleaner.

I waterproof mine every 3-6 months depending on how beady the water gets, and use a decent spray on proofer, I get mine from the camping shop as the stuff from there seems to last longer and is usually cheaper than the autoglym fabric hood protector spray.

Same here ... just use the BMW cleaner once in a while but the Autoglym is supposed to be good. I used to use BMW impregnating agent agent but don't think it is as good as a general tent waterÃÂ¥roof treatment.
As far as a cover goes ... I was advised not to use one unless you can get an air gap between it and the roof ... damp will build up and that is not good for the roof.

same here!

I can recommend the Auto-glym cleaner and protector; it really does a good job.

But you always need more protector than cleaner :D
