I think there are some markings on it. Best speak to Sytner and ask them where they would be.
Considered doing anything extra to the head? Maybe a bit more porting, 5 angle valve seats, better cam (272/272 or 284/272). The Alpina cam is quite tame.

You dont have a 2.7 Alpina engine? Where did you get the head from?
If you have the crank put it in while its all open.
Use early 325i pistons with 320i rods. Block will need shaving down a bit (1mm??).
If you go to an engine builder with 1 piston, 1 rod and the block they will do the necessary machining for you. Aim for a compressions ratio of about 10.2:1.
The difference will be very very noticeable!
As for the valve angled seats - I doubt youll be able to do this at home.
With this sort of setup you should break the 200bhp barrier with ease.

So do you machine the pistons so they only have two valve cut outs ?

From what I understand, the 2.3 based C2 2.5 (2556cc) used the 2.7 crank anyway - that's how they increased the cc, and when the 2.5 came along, they just did the same to create the 2.7.
That last sentence makes sense, honest.
My C2 has a letter from Sytners detailing the conversion - I've had a brief look at it, when I (finally) get the car, I'll have another look.

I believe the c2 2.5 based on the 323i used the 323i crank with 325i pistons. Thats one source might be wrong though.
I would say stick in the 2.7 crank, you'll defo get something which is near enough a c2 2.7 power or possibly more.
Have you get a 6 branch on there as this really makes a difference.

i'm thinking that the this 2.5 based 2.3 lump already has an eta crank in it, which is how they achieved 2.5 from 2.3
