Drivers side lock: unlocks but doesnt lock....

Hi,

Had the problem for so long but its just getting anoying now.
I replaced every lock on the car when i bought it cos all of them had been tampered!

Anyhow, i have to lock the car from the passenger side. drivers side opens but drivers side just turns and engages nothing when you try and lock it. Ive had a really good look inside but cant really see whats wrong?!

Anyone have a diagram or any advise?

Check the driver door actuator is in place and connected to the metal link.

it should be fitted to the door panel by 2 screws.

I would say it could be you door lock(barrel) that is at fault.The bit you put the key into.On the drivers side it has a dead-lock mechanism and this bit in the lock can break then it wont turn enough to lock the car.

or it could just need copious amounts of WD40 or the likes sprayed in there...worked for me
