Hi All
Please can anyone advise, i am at my wits end with my 1988 M40 e30 saloon. Had the car some time now and its deteriorating badly.
Tick over very lumpy and it bogs down under light load. Anything other than a heavy throttle and its a nightmare, its making me drive like a goon! At tickover revs fall to 600 and the pop back up to 800 when you take your foot off the pedal.
So far replaced plugs, dizzy cap, leads and tried replacing TPS x3, another AFM, another throttle body, replaced hoses, cleaned out ICV, new filter, checked for air leaks blah, blah, blah.
Just ordered a blue temp sender, as the forum has been a great source of comfort I thought I'd give it one more try before I set the thing on fire!
Any pics on how to remove blue temp sender, just before I buy a box of matches.
Heres hoping someone can help
Cheers
Mark

From what I have also read on the forums I would suggest that it has the same symptoms of others cars that have needed gaskets replaceing on the inlet manifold! HTH

Have you tried using a known-good ECU?
