front springs twisted.

Hi guys, I need some desperate help, I was replacing my cylinder head this weekend past. and when I jacked up my car to undo the retainer bolts for the exhaust manifold I noticed that the front drivers side spring is twisted.
almost at 60degrees almost like it is folded in half. dont know how hard it is to replace them.

But what really worries me is how they actually got like that.

Im not entirly sure what springs on it sits very low to the ground.

does 40mm mean its droped 40mm of the ground or the length of the spring is 40mm less than standrd.
