No they are totaly different as the automatic uses a tourqe converter and a seperate starter ring bolted on in place of a flywheel

If you're thinking of fitting an auto engine to a manual gearbox; less obviously, the auto engine doesn't have a spigot bearing in the crank in the middle of the flywheel. Just needs to be fitted.
