use the front timing cover and bottom pulley/crank sensor arrangement
,use the 2.0 intake and injectors too but a 2.5 would be better for flow

basically all the loom and sensors from the motronic need swoping to the B23 and she'll need a chip to suit, 2.5 a tad too much fuel, 2.0 opposite, I have done a 2.3 variation for a guy in NZ, all reports suggest she kicks arse, the b23 is the true screamer m20

helps loads mate cheers
most people instantly tell me dnt bother get a 325 but iv been there done that and besides i dnt like waste and everything i should need is sat here on the drive

good to hear someone agreeing with the 23 for once
have had a 100+plus mile drive in the 323 and engine was so smooth and lot faster than my 320 so seems the obvious and cheapest shorterm solution for me

cheers ant

anything else you can suggest to up its power driveability most welcome
ps can you do me the same chip you mentioned if i do this conversoin?
and what ecu will it go in?320i?

cheers :thumb:

Daz, do the swop and get her running on motronic using the 320 ECU, dont cane it though and you must not use the jetronic injectors are they are the wrong impedance,

motronic with motronic always and you'll not go wrong, and as for the chip, no worries dude, can do that NP @ all

There is only one 2.3L M20 right? What else was done to it? My 2.3L definately doesn't kick arse, but I'd like it to. I already have exhaust, no afm, and ems.

I can't imagine a 320 being much slower than my 323i or any rougher. Mine rattles and taps and feels like it's working hard just to get to the redline. When I turn on the air-conditioning it sounds like a truck. The mechanic keeps telling me how clean and good it looks inside the engine and how well it's running. I'm starting to wonder if it is a 2.3L or if you guys got some special version  . Maybe they like the climate in the UK better :D .
