ok my problem is that i have some 15x6 g60 steel wheels which i am having banded to 15x8 and 15x9 the original ET is 35, i am aware standard e30 offset is et25
i have been told with the banding being done on the outer edge the new offsets will be 15x8 et15 2inch band
and 15x9 et0 is this true and has any of you boys fit 15x9 et0 on your e30 . any help would be great

with fixed wheels, you need to look at the original et, and fit the wheel to the can and go from there.

yes the et changes, but its the rear clearance that matters. and et 35 will clear everything, but going 9" wide but widening the outer ( the face ) it will need some rolling and flaring to clear depending on your tyre sizes.

thanks for the reply, i knew they were going to be deep as i wanted to make it look special, the fronts didnt reay worry me just hope the rears will go under, i am a panel beater by trade so a bit of rolling the arches wont be a problem but the rears will be wide and really low offset , i am unsure if its going to be too much to get them under, i just had my heart set on 15x9's, do you know if anyone has put something on like this size and et before me.
 I SEND THEM TO BE BANDED TMORRO

These will fit, but the outer face will hang out a bit.
I refurb BBS RM's to this size and they start off with an ET 33 and quite a few guys on here are running 9j rears.

i'd be interested to see pics of this too :D

the inner 'depth' works out well with the G60 wheels, less than 2mm different to a 15" BBS so no strut clearance issues to worry about.

have you checked clearance against your brakes etc before sending them off? i guess the need for spacers would make them a tad excessive! 8O :D

I love wide steelies... Do post picks.... I want to do this to my car aswell... Sleeper style hub caps and all for everyday driving so the poo-lice dont get on my back, and the car still looks like grandma owns it but with much wider wheels winkeye

Are they hubcentric or lugcentric? I read you can have problems if you dont have the right type

VERY few cars use lug centric wheels hi-lux s i think do ....

hub centric means that whe wheel centres itself by sitting on the hub if the centre bore is wrong it wont sit on the hub if its too small the wheels wont fit safely at alll (why you cant fit vaux wheels as they have a 56mm centre bore) but vw wheels have the same 57.1mm centre bore as e30s.

using wide spacers that arent hubcentric can cause problems as the wheels can be fitted incorrectly but it is very hard to fit wheels that use tapered seat nuts incorectly centred as doing the nuts up pulls the wheel into place

some aftermarket wheels require spigot rings to fit inside the centre hole and bring the size down to the required 57.1mm people will try and tell you you cant use plastic spigot rings but the reality is you can because they are not taking any load and are simply a centering aid

just remember if you trackday steels you cook pads.
the heat loss on steels is 0

thats why myself and some friends done pads and wheel bearings in our golfs at a alarming rate.
