Steam coming through air vents.

after recent cold snap my 318i has started blowing steam through air vents into car, has my heater matrix blown? and if so is this something a man with 2 left hands could change. thanks

Have you lost coolant ? Is your carpet wet on the near side ?

But yes, if the steam smells like it has antifreez in it then most likly the matrix or one of the rubber seal's that connects it to the through bulk head pipes.
