which plugs should a 1988 318i m10 engine should i be running at mo it has ngk BPR5E and one is cutting out
ie fires when it wants and then dont fire at all took the front one out as easy and its black is that running rich?

depends if its black soot or black oil.
black is rich yes . or lots of idleing or start stopping.

any parts shop will tell you wnat plugs are listed in there plugs book.

is the rest of your ignition system up to scrach too?

new cap leads yes blact soot need to find some where to tune it then thanks

black soot isnt always bad
clean them or replace them
and check to see if after a long drive they have done it agian .

the old engines are more likely to soot up ,short journeys or long idleing soots them up alot easyier
