Alright folks,
i'm restoring a 90' 318is. it's been sitting for about 10yrs, so all the usual problems, rust, steering rack, more rust.
it needs a new rack, so i bought a used e36 rack. When the rack arrived it was leaking oil out of passanger side boot. no big issue with a hole in the boot as i could just replace the boot.
My question is if i replaced the boots could the rack still be ok? or as there is oil where the boot is covering does this mean a seal is broken and the rack needs re-con'd?
