Brake warning light on - why?

I changed my brake pads a couple of months ago and all of a sudden the dotted line warning light is flicking on. Is there a sensor reset, or even a way of disabling the thing?

Because you didn't change the brake pad wear senser I'd guess.

alternatively, the wire to the sensor is rubbing on the inside of the wheel or a suspension component, or got a thorough drenching with the recent rain.

there is also a common fault where a dry joing on a resistor on the back of the instrument cluster causes a false warning. i'd check the wiring first though. it's only on the front left and rear right wheels.

I'm assuming it wasn't even replaced Gareth since OP already asked how to reset it, and as theres no reset as such just replaement of the senser with the pads that should (at least could) be the issue here.

i took 'all of a sudden' to mean it was a recent thing... could be one of many things though.
i think there's enough to check over listed here now anyway
