Hi, I have a 12v bulb ready to test power is getting to my starter motor as per a previous thread...where would I place the 2 other ends of wire on the starter motor to test power is coming to it? Will I be needing a third party to turn the key?

Thanks

Unless you are built like Mr Tickle out of the Mister Men books, I would say that you would need a beautiful assistant for this job. One of your wires should go onto a good earthing point (choose something clean, solid, metal and bolted to the car) and the other end should go on............

Anyone?
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Off topic, but does anyone know if that pin 11/14 trick would work on the M30 also? Mine fails to turn the starter every now and again, I suspect a faulty park switch on the autobox, and this would be a good workaround if needed.

11 and 14 on any E30 with that type of diagnostic connector. 11 is a branch off of the black/yellow that goes to the starter motor, and 14 comes straight from the battery +.
