Cold air from the center vents

I only noticed this a few days ago, but i only get cold air from the center vents.
Is it broke? or is it supposed to be like that?

you mean the fan is not blowing through them?

No, the fan blows hot through the left and right outer vents, but cold from the middle. :?

The centre vents are cold if the temp control is not at full hot...in other words at half hot/cold setting, the hot comes through car or window (or side) vents, cold through the centre...
At full hot it is hot everywhere...

Also, if you have only face vents open and window/car vents closed and the temp is not cold, the mixed air is directed through the centre vents...

Same on both my 325 and M3
