Ok, before anyone starts, I have searched back and have leanred more than I knew before, however I still have a few queries...

I don't think that I currently have any probs with my SI board, though recently the rev counter didn't work, but a tap on the top of the dash sorted that. However, as my car is 12 years old, and I understand that earlier cars have needed new SI boards due to leaking batteries, I wanted to avoid such a problem.

I read somewhere that later cars have Lithium batteries - as mine is a '93 is it likely that mine with have these, and are they less prone to failure than the NiCads?

Is it worth me doing anything with regard to replacing the batteries, or are the likely to be ok for the foreseeable future?

Thanks!

I wouldnt bother replacing the batteries until you know they are faulty.

its an easy enough job bearing in mind lithium batteries have a shelf life of 10 years they wont be far off from being finished ...i did mine paid about a fiver for each battery 3volt ..mine were from rs conponents get the ones with the tags as it is a complete bars***d trying to solder the tags on without the heat damaging the battery. ...good luck

Any idea of the part No or product code?

Are mine likely to be the Lithium ones?

What happens to the indicator when you swap the batteries?

Thanks
