heated rear window wiring

ive found a black wire under drivers side of the dash it looks like its been cut or its came off something,it comes from the roof down the drivers A post and it stretches all the way to the distibution block under the glove box, im wondering if this could be the reason why my rear demister doesnt work
iv check switch and fuse i also changed switch for a known working one
i cant find a wiring diagram for the rear window demister
does anyone know where the wires for the demister go to and from?

HRW wiring doesn't go anywhere near the A pillar.
Examine the cut end of the wire to see if it's a screened cable. Wires that match your description are usually the remains of ultrasonic alarm sensors.
