hi there i have bought a 318i M40 but cant get it to run perfect. ive changed the idle control valve and afm along with plugs, fuel filter, rotar arm etc. it starts ok runs ok for a second then starts to splutter and hunt and eventuly cuts out the plugs are very black as if its gettin to much fuel.

ive just realised that there is a tear in the rubber pipe between thr afm and throttle body im nt sure if thats the problem

any help will be greatly app. thanks chris

Thats probably the cause of your problems. You might have changed all those things for nothing but its better that you have as you can now rule them out.

Also if its running rich it could be the Blue Temp sender, worth replacing as a part of a good service.
