It can be done with it all in situ apparently, but when I did it I couldn't do it, so I waited till I did the timing belt and did it then. I think the metal water pipe across the timing cover gets in the way. The bottom bolts tend to corrode too, I had to drill one out.

Easy one here mate,
Get yourself a small socket to fit the dizzy bolts, then use an allen key on the socket whatever the size is and it's a piece of pisz m8
. It makes the job a lot easier!
