Apoligies if this is not allowed, I looked and did not see anything about it in the rules.
My other half has a 1999 rover 211 which has developed another problem and was wondering if anyone had any ideas before I spend a fortune on garage bills.
There is a loud ticking/rasping noise coming from somewhere at the front of the car. It only happens when the car is in gear and the engine is working. Everything is fine at idle and even when i put it on the axle stands and drove it. It seems only when the car is under load. It started off only when accelerating but now it is when ever the car is moving whilst in gear.
Any ideas?

I cant be sure as it is only present when driving, it sounds like it might be coming from the engine,
