Went to change the diff on my touring yesterday and the bolts on the drive shafts are torx bolts and not the 8mm allen bolts.

Can someone tell me the size of socket i need for them?

Should be T50, but might be T45.

I might be completely wrong as I've not seen it!

If it's hollow (like a caphead), you need a Txx.

If the torx head is pointing out ("like" a hexhead), you need an Exx.

If you can measure the thing, I can tell you. - but minicooper172 is probably not far off.

Ah sorry, I thought it was a socket type where you needed the male socket.
