Hi,
for a while now ive been noticing a ticking noise from my engine, which goes away when it is fully up to temp.
The speed of the ticking does increase with revs, but it isnt injectors i dont think as i can hear them ticking seperately and this noise goes away.
I have also had a good close listen and it doesnt seem to be comin from anywhere round the exhaust manifold, more under the inlet side.
Has anyone else had this?, can a shot inlet gasket tick like an exhaust one would?
Cheers

inloet would not tick

an exhaust blow at manifold cyl no. 1 would be my bet...

however the top end could be a bit noisy until it warms up---just wear and tear i guess

has it come on sudden or gradually or always had it

I thinks its always had it but its just recently that ive really started to notice it.
Exhaust manifold is the best bet i know, but it really doesnt sound like its coming from there
I have a spare manifold to put on but really dont want to get involved with snapped/stripped studs etc! (although i know the answer to that Q is 'do it you lazy muppet' or something similar!)

I really have no excuse i suppose, i even have my 'own' two post ramp!
Do is heads still have a problem with stripping studs as with m20's though?
And i really dont want to go all through that only to find it still does it!!
