320i misfiring

I recently bought a 320i vert that appears to have a misfire.

It was difficult to identify it at first as the exhaust was blowing out more air than Christopher Biggins, but that has been chnged now.

I checked all the plug cables and plugs and notice that the number 5 plug looks wet although there is a spark coming from the dizzy. Other than looking a tad wet it appears normal. I assume this might be the cause of the misfire, any ideas as to why that should happen please?

This might be stating the obvious but the plug could be fecked

That could be true Jules, although I have changed it for a known good 'un, still misfires

check the distributer rotor arm and the contacts for signs of burning and inspect the rotor cap carefully for cracks.

have you tested the leads? have you checked to see if the leads are fitting on the plugs and distributer snugly?

Checked the leads, but not looked at the dizzy cap or rotor. Will do that next and report back.
