is there a special tool to remove strut leg insert collar

hi, does anybody have or know of or know how to make a tool to remove the collar from the top of the strut leg so that i can remove the shock absorber insert? i dont want to hammer it or damage it its a fragile thang!! :cry:

Put the strut in a vice and loosen the nut with a long handled wrench. Job done.

I find that a cold chisel and lump hammer to be the best....
Afterall,you do get a new collar nut with your shiny new insert.. winkeye
