What can you do to repair a rusty scuttle.

Need technical Q/A then you're in the right place

Well the inevitable is happening! The project car is sitting at a friends house (for a while now :)) and the scuttle is begining to bubble on both sides. Not holes, but bubbling!

What is the best way to sort this. Cut a little hole and weld in some metal? Or get a new quater or something and weld it in?

Hopefully when the project starts, the first priority is rust hunting and fixing... and hopefully nasty patches haven't developed over the last 9-10 months :?

I'm on fool! That's no MIG welder.

Not used to the technology of something that's nothing more than a pair of pliers?

Typical sheep russler (is that spelt wrong?)!

Ok, so are those panels all welded together or are they bolted together?

I assume they are all welded. Is this a bit of a massive job, even with the engine and interior removed?

Brazing joins two pieces of work together, using a gas torch to melt brass (or another alloy such as bronze) filler by capillary action.

Try to remember that a little knowledge is nothing without practical experience.
Your chosen bodyman would not be where he is today if does not know what you are talking about....
There again,I asked my bodyman to 'Fix the front panel',thinking he would know that a fog light blanking panel should just clip into place...just spent an interesting half hour with a pair of waterpump pliers making the damn blanking plate fit, after painting.....
