yeah another thing my fuel guage does not work shows full most of the time works now and then but mostly shows a full tank

does it move when you tap the cluster? There is 2 small 8mm brass nuts on the back of the instrument cluster. One is for the fuel gauge an the other for the temp gauge... Try tightening the nut, Its a earthing point so if its loose the gauge wont work properly. When you hit a bump or tap the cluster the jolt can be enough for it to earth thus making it work.

There is other reasons however.

G is 1988/1989 I think, so should be Facelift.
