Right, i got a new front valance as mine was shagged, sprayed it all up, clearcoated it, then thought to myself that the colour was off. Now ive always got my colour (Alinewhite) mixed at Halfords, and they are generally spot on. First time i went in the bloke said that as my car was an older one it was a slightly differnt colour to the newer Alpine White, so he said to let anyone know in the future that it was the only Alpine White with just 3 colours in, that why they should know.

So anyway, i got the paint mixed up yesterday and after realising it was wrong i went back to Halfords today and told them and said i need the propper one, gave them the code, my car year etc.

The bloke came back out and said can i have a look, so i went and looked on the computer screen with him and he said that there were 3 types of Alpine White, all with the 218 code, same year etc but with a differnt letter at the end of each one. He said he couldnt help me out and wasnt sure what i could do.

So now i need to get some propper matching paint, Halfords can piss off.Is there anywhere that mixes paint up apart from them? I was told that my Brighton BMW dont do paints (cant remember who by) and they probably charge about a grand each aerosole.

So i currently have to ride to work until i repaint the valance as ive got no bumpers at all!.

I might just put it on with the differnt shad of white, and then once i can get some, take the bumper, grills etc off, mask the rest up and bodge the front. The insides gonna be white anyway so it wont look much differnt.

You recon they deliever mate? Bit far away, but if they can take the paint code and car details down on the phone etc and send then that would be cool.

They reasonably priced?

Not honestly sure mate.

Swirly,

There's an Autopaint in Lewes:

Autopaint International
11a, St. Nicholas Lane, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 2JY
Tel: 01273 478111

There's also a place in Horsham that I get stuff from, but never tried them for paint (although they do it).

Metalflake
Unit 1, North Heath Lane, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 5PJ
Tel: 01403 270555

Most towns have a Paint factors or three, and I would be very surprised if there's not something in Worthing. I know Partco stock Bodyshop materials, but not sure if they also mix paint.

Cheers,

Ian.
