Anyone retro-fitted an oil cooler to a pre-facelift M20 (in this case, a 323i based Hartge H23)? I've fiddled around and can't seem to work out how to fit one behind the lower front valance and am concerned if it sits forward of the valance, it wont fit behind the Harge front spoiler.

Any pics of the proper fitment would be appreciated.

Regards
David

Sorry can't help you there David but saw your H23 at Autohaus a few weeks back. Nice looking car, there was even a rumour you are thinking of selling??

There is extreme pressure on the home front to offload a few cars. As such, the H23 might be on the market for the right price ...

Thanks Will. Given where it is showed as fitted, would it sit behind the lower front valance?

Yes. You can just about see it through the vents in this pic. I think I've got a photo somewhere of mine that shows the cooler when I was fitting my tech1 front valance, I'll see if I can find it.

Not sure how much originality figures in your thinking, but another option might be using an E32 735i auto rad. It has a built in oil cooler for the autobox, cannot see why it would not work for the engine oil.

Fits perfectly in the engine bay too.

Martin.

Ah, the dreaded home front
I have just about finished my restoration so looking for a new toy.
I may be interested, keep me in mind if you do decide to sell
