hey guys i was looking at purchasing a e30 323i ( i live in australia ) with the m20 2.3l motor
when i started her up at idle it wasnt idleing steady, the revs kept jumping eveer so slightly...like it was gasping for air.... im pretty sure the engine wasnt too cold...
gonnna take her for a test drive in a few days..
is this a serious problem? the car has done about 200k km 85 mod,
any help greatly apreciated..

not much of a tech freak but i guess its the idle control valve which isnt to difficult to adjust, take it for a drive and then see if its still up and down.

Im sure someone with bit more knowledge will post and fill in the blanks

Cheer

possible vacum leak? the idle valves on the jetronic motors can be adjusted by a screw.

they sit on the end of the inlet manifold.
