8)

My fuel filler door is becoming 'flappy', it will close okay-ish but tends to open for about half an inch when braking very hard or washing the car with a pressure wash. :?

Needless to say, this must be sorted ASAP, anyone got any ideas? I already replaced the spring with one from the breakers but that didn't seem to do the trick.

TIA

is there a flange inside that the spring pushes against? pull it a couple of mm forward to tighten the contact on the spring, (only a guess this will work)

Just an idea, but try tightening the bolt that forms the pivot of the hinge to make it a little stiffer so it stays closed properly. Actually come to think of it I'm not sure there are any........I'll have to check tomorrow or it's going to bug me
