Ok I'm retrofitting headlamp wipers, and the intensive wash function to my e30. I've got everything and have figured out all the wiring, but am confused about the plumbing part. Now my 1981 633csi has the intensive function, and uses almost 4 check valves under the hood to keep the intensive fluid from mixing with the regulor fluid. There are 2 lines running up the hood, then 3 t-s and 4 check valves. It's a pretty elaborate setup. My question is how is the E30 plumbed? Same way with all the check valves to keep the fluids from mixing? I only ask as here in the U.S. each valve is $18 8O  So x6(2 needed for the headlight wipers) that adds up

The E30 uses 4 one way valves for the intensive wash, one tee for each windshield jet and one straight coupler for each headlamp jet.

The supply pipes for the winshield jets are looped together (one pipe for the regular wash looped to one end of both tee valves and the other line for the intensive looped to the other end of both jets) with the central connection on each tee connected to the jet.

Hope this makes sense

that helps, sounds just like how my Shark is plumbed. Are there check valves going to each headlamp squirter?

Yes there are check valves in the feed to each headlamp jet, just the 2 port type rather than the 3 port 'tee' type.

Hello,

I'm also interested in retrofitting on an E30.

Can't read the yahoo link which you provided though I do have a yahoo password.

Thx,
