Sup fellaz,

Ive read something in here about checking the voltage of certain connectors to see if the throttle is fully opening when foot is to the floor..

sure i read it in articles on the Zone.cant seem to find it now..

Any ideas or can someone tell me what it is and how do i check it

check for full throttle by getting a mate to floor it ( engine OFF obv ) and then see if you can open the throttle further by hand, if so get a new cable or ajust your cureent one correctly, there are a lot of cars out there making 3/4 WOT max.

A free go faster mod

with regard to the electrics, you need a multimeter with a cintinuity test function, find the TPS under the throttle body itself, remove the three pin plug and test as follows......

Centre pin is "common" this is where you need to connect one probe from your meter.

with the throttle closed you should find there is conti between the middle pin and the one nearest the w/screen ( M20)

with the throttle wide open the other outer pin should have conti to the middle one.

If you get no readings then remove the TPS and clean it out with carb cleaner, spray it into the D shaped hole, don be shy , drown the bugger

once clean test again, if still nothing, bin it and buy a new one !

make sure @ idle the TPS is giving the closed throttle ouput, ajust the slotted retaining ring until this is the case

for WOT its a case of setting the cable up correctly.

there ya go dude, simple really innit.

note: some autos have a variable TPS, the conti test will not work on these units, normally these have a 4 pin round connector
