Just bought a 325i cab that used to be a 316 cab and has had an engine conversion done. The brakes dont seem brilliant in my opinion, its got discs on the rear which i guess was done but i thought it would stop better?
Are the 316/318 front brakes the same as the 325? might they of not uprated the front brakes?
Any help greatly appreciated

they're the same diameter on the front but 325 (and 320?) are vented.

as far as i am aware all the cabs have rear disk from the factory
to deal with the extra weight
as for front disks
i have just replace mine with ate vented ones
i got from euro car parts about Ԛ£50 for the fronts (pair)
and they were stated as 318i-325i
so might be an idea to upgrade to them just in case
the previous owner never
they really improved the braking on mine after they had bedded in too

On 316/318 coupe's they have solid front discs.
On 316/318 tourers they have vented discs, like the 325's
Im not sure if a 1.6/1.8 cab had vented front disks tho, i would of thought they would because of the extra weight.
Probably worth having a look on your car mate, if they do have solid discs then buy some 325 front calipers and vented discs with some new fluid and you should stop alot better.
If you already have vented discs then probably a good service e.i pads, fluid should sort them out.
