I noticed last night after the heavy rain that i have a fairly large amount of water coming into the front footwells :(

Is this a common thing any ideas of wear this could be coming in?

I'll have the dash out in the next couple of weeks so all may become clear then, but any guidance would be appreciated.

It may have shagged my electrics too as car is now dead- hopefull just flat battery as it has sat for a while, will know tonight as battery is on charge :(

it would be quicker to search for answers as there are a lot of reasons for a wet floor.

My advise, have someone with a hose pipe stand over the car while your inside looking for leaks. ( carpet up)

The car is part stripped and not being driven at the moment so, its def water coming down rather than anything else.

The hose pipe is the plan when the dash is out as its coming in somewhere behind the dash- can see drips where the glove box used to be.

dont think its the window as rubbers are good, was just hoping someone would have an idea??

scuttle sheilds (black plastic grates by the wipers) out and blasted with air if u can,

elephant trunk, in the engine bay on the bulkhead, right side of the engine. Twist off and clean out, also have a poke around inside the bulkhead

The bulkhead section behind/under the fusebox is a common place. Another is the bulkhead in and around the radiator resevoir tank!!

Get the dash out and you will definitely see more, including potential damage to the bulkhead!!

The plastic weather sheet inside the door was mine.

Cheers guys, sounds/looks like something around the bulk head- poss the fuse box as car is currently dead.

Will have a quick poke tonight in the accessable areas you all mention.

Hopefully no big water damage but am guessing it could have been there for a while as there is a hole in the floor :(

And who said prepping a race car would be straight forward

Hello jim :)

Undo the panel that the engine loom is attached to at the rear of the bay,
You have to pull the rubber seal off that the bonnet sits on when closed and lever it forwards.
Once in there check the condition of the seal arond the top of the heater system and clean the outlet pipe stoney mentioned.

If your keeping the car outside and the heater is being removed for weight loss you will have to fit a blanking plate to stop it happening again.

Or drill holes in the footwells to let the water out

Blimey, i'm going to busy tonight! heater has to stay in to meet regs so I haven't stuffed that yet :D

No need to make drainage holes, I can already touch the floor from inside the car

It's only four 7 or 8mm self tapper's, it's easier than trying to remove the scuttle shields and give's better access.

I surpose if you let the car rust away to nothing you could save quite a bit of weight
