325i LSD into a 318is

Hey guys, bit of help if i can plz....
I got 2 lsd's a 3.93 and a 3.7?, need to know if they will fit into my 318is, if so which is best ratio (engine kicks out 162 bhp @ the mo) and what i might have to change on the way (driveshafts? rear springs to account for weight?) etc. Any help greatly appreciated cheers...

iv also got an IS, nothin done to it yet tho, what mods you running to get that amount of power?
Have you tried out viper chips - r they n e good?

As for the LSDs i am told in previous threads both will fit, all u g2 do is move the prop back a bit to accomodate i think

If you would be so kind the one you dont use i willl definatly buy of you cos i need one too! people tend to go for 3.91 on a IS i think so ud probs be better of with the 3.9 rather than the 3.7 one?? il still av the 3.7 of ya tho!!!

I got stainless de-cat pipe and exhaust system (scorpion) and polished manifold. Cold Air induction (K&N), and funnilly enough as you mention it a Viper 2 chip, i never drove the car before it had the chip, so i can't say what difference it made, but on a rolling road came up 162. Thats 26 horses up, so i guess the de-cat made some little difference with the CAI, but i'm guessing the chip made the most difference. Where can u get BBThrottle for Ԛ£100??

know idea about the viper chips mate not many people on here run 318is

if you email alpina527@aol.com he can get you a big bore throttle body for 100 plus delivery, you haev to send you old one back to him when you are done with it.

is that a poliished exhaust manifold, how much did that cost?

I wouldn't waste time with 4 branch manifolds as your cars already have a very very good one on them as standard. No 318is needs a cat either as the law is 1992 K reg onwards.

To the original question definately fit the 3.91 LSD the 3.73 one will bog your car down! Is the other defo a 3.73 LSD?!

u don't need a de cat as your car shouldn't have one! unless some helmet who bought it new payed and extra Ԛ£800 for optional cat converter to slow his car down and help the enviroment!

U WANT OR NEED 3.91 SPORT DIFF OR 4.10 RATIO

ALL OTHER DIFF RATIOS WILL MAKE YOUR CAR SHITE!

u won't find a small case 4.10 they are too rare

both diffs in capitals are large case diffs off more powerful E30's and are bigger,heavier and stronger than small case diffs fitted to 318iS/316 etc

if the big bush needs doing. If u do get a new bush, buy one for a ZM3. Exactly the same as an E30 one but alot stronger.

Yes thats all u do is loosen the prop in the middle. If u are strong and mechanically minded do it yourself is my advice!
