not sure bruvs, and im not sure where it is in the block or on the head,

i heard that the numbers should be the same ,i.e m20b20 on the block and the same on the head, as for crank i think it a given that they belong in the block found in.

The head should have the engine size stamped/cast into it on the spark plug/exhuast side towards the front. A 325 engine will have 2.5/2.7 stamped into it if I remember correctly.

Hope this helps

An M20 2.5 litre engine will have something like "25 6K 1" (i.e. 2.5 litre, 6 Cyl) stamped next to the engine number (looking from the inlet manifold side the engine number is to the right of the base of the dipstick tube).
As 325SME says the head will have "2.5/2.7" embossed on it on the exhaust manifold side towards the front.

If you need piccies of the locations and numbers to help let me know, I have a spare 2.5 out on an engine stand at the moment ready to be stripped.
