my 318is has developed a leak from the outlet pipe( at the back of the engine block to the heater matrix) i've taken all the inlet manifold off to get a better look at the leak and have discovered its not the rubber pipe thats leaking but the metal pipe which is inserted in the block, which has corroded and has two little holes in it, has anybody else had this problem, if yes how did you fix it, can the metal pipe be replaced(can't tell wether its screwed in or press fitted) or is there a way it can be repaired.
cheers

Depends which engine. Pipe is held on by three bolts on the M40, with a gasket. On the M10 ,IIRC, the pipe screws in with an O ring as the seal.
Most parts are still available for all E30 at suprisingly low prices from the dealers. I've never been told that a part is no longer available yet, and the longest I've waited is one working day.

its the 318iS engine, twin cam sixteen valve, in that case should the old one just screw out, it looks like it would just snap off if i try to turn it(its that corroded), and i don't want to be left with just a tiny stub of a pipe just sticking out.
