Already asked this at BMW and the reponse did not fill me with confidence at their knowledge or interest

The cable for my seat tilt mecanism snapped so I ordered a new one. It seems to be about an inch too short though when I came to fit it. I gave the snapped one to bmw so they would know what to order and they have thrown it away.

I have the blue checked sports seats, fitted as standard to the 318is i believe.

My question is, are there different lenghts for these cables and could anyone supply me with a part no.

Many thanks,
jslot

There are different lengths, from what I have experienced the cabby seat handles are further up and have longer cables - but from what I remember it was more than an inch difference.

You can make these up using bicycle brake cable, the end loop is made by folding the cable back on it self and passing it through an electrical crimp connection with the terminal cut off. Then crimp it to the desired length.Bingo working seat. :D
