Looks like the top of the air flow meter was removed previously and glued back with silscone sealent. However, it is starting to lift off. Is silicone sealant the recommended may of bonding this back down if it has been removed? I'm conscious that it should be a good airtight fit.

Thanks,
Kevin.

YEa..silicone is fine m8..

take it off, give it a blow inside to remove any debris that might of got inside, then put a lil bead of silicone on the lip of the cover and push it back on the unit..

Carefull where it goes though. Gives off acetic acid as it cures, and you don't really want that inside the AFM.

Thanks guys,

I've just remembered that I might have some sealent in the garage that was used for the granite worktops, it doesn't have any acetic acid so probably would be better to use.
