Oil cooler on 325

Have a slight oil leek from the oil cooling rad on my sport and another from the bottom of the oil filter head(not where it joins the block)Anyone have this problem?is there a seal within the filter head?The oil cooler is damn expensive new(about Ԛ£200).There's one on ebay at the moment but it's very secondhand looking.I fookin hate oil leaks.Advice apreciated.

The leak on the filter head is very common, and is from the oil stat. Repair kit available from your dealer for about a fiver, IIRC.
As for the cooler itself, you will have to replace it or remove it completely and use the 320 oil filter set up.
If you hate oil leaks, then you really shouldn't have bought an M20!

Thanks for the reply brian.Lol,yea ive heard the M20 can be prone to leaks alright.I was wondering myself if the oil cooler could be removed so you've just answered my question.I presume by what you say that this involves replacing the existing filter head with the 320 f/head and filter?Would this have any adverse effects?I think in any case id prefer to keep it original,grin and bear it and buy a new cooler.Can anyone confirm if eurocarparts can supply an oil cooler for the 325?

i wouldnt recommend remving the oil cooler.
its there for a reason, dont risk it.

secondhand oil coolers can be had cheaply from the for sale section (or place a wanted ad)

You could also fit an aftermarket cooler from Mocal but you may need to alter your pipework. Not a big problem.

20 years ago there might have been a reason, although the 320 was deemed OK without one, and they need to be thrashed continuously to get any kind of speed out of them.
Oil technology has come a long way in 20 years.

That plug on the oil thermo is a pig to do! the retaining clip manged to fly out and smack me right on the nose! so point it away from your face when doing it. Also some kind of lub is needed to compresses the new plug into the seal (if your using your hands)
