i relise its reverse thread, but it just keeps turning, the belt also makes a noise when car is running as its a bit loose but it looks like the alternator is "pulled out" as far as it goes to tighten it

car no longer overheats in traffic, although at the same time i discoved that the radiator is well shagged
it makes a bit of a hissing sound after a run out, and car seems to be using a small amount of water so i assume that its the rad now


going to replace all hoses, thermostat, and rad
