My speedo packed up, any ideas on what it can be and how much it may cost to fix..

It's a 320i cab, I know it aint fast by any means but I would like to know how fast I am going

have you checked the fuses?

I pressume the rev counter is still working. You may find the mpg meter and tachometer have also stopped working.

If so get round the back of the car and look under @ the diff. There is a 2 wire connecter plugged into the diff, this sensor is used for road speed etc, firstly check the wires to the plug has they corrode or break, if not buy a new sensor (not expensive). :wink:

Yeah new sensor's about Ԛ£12 from the dealers (don't forget to ask for the O-ring to go with it)

If that doesn't work, it might be time to dig out the soldering iron and attack the insides of the speedo head. Only takes a couple of hours in all :)

So far this was the cheepest repair my BM has had! It was simply a cable had come un plugged on the diff..
