Dudes......
My central locking's playing up yet again. I see on the online ETK there's a "REPAIR KIT WATERPROOF PLUG" listed. Anyone know if this is what I need to cure the problem once and for all?
........ Or do I bin the two halves of the plastic plug and bullet connector the whole lot??
Cheers
Stuart.

The usual central locking problem caused by the door pillar socket is caused by the red/black power feed wire which loops into the door and out again, as I've posted many times before.
If this is the problem, disconnect them both behind the speaker and join them together.

Thanks Brian. Had an idea you'd be along with an answer :thumb:
I'll have another look tomorrow. I've already (a few months ago) spliced in a cable to replace a broken pin. I think it may have been on a black/red cable. If it is, I'll do as you suggest.
Cheers
Stuart.

The relevant pins in the door pillar are the one that is sort of out on its own by the big hole, and the one in the main clump that is closest to it.
Some people who have done this mod claim to have three black/red wires. I have checked quite a few looms, and haven't found this third wire yet. In fact, there is only one other wire to the socket that has red in it, and that is red/ brown for the deadlock.
The wires you want are one with 12V+ on it all the time from fuse 27, and one that goes to the socket for the interior light delay socket.
Just disconnect both of them from the pillar socket and join them together.

Thanks Brian. :thumb: I've done this now so fingers crossed.
BTW, I didn't find a 3rd red/black wire either!

I don't suppose anyone has the part number of the repair kit and what it includes/price etc?

Many thanks
