the pipes running into and around my throttle body are looking a bit knackered. Is it possible to take them off and just match them up with some generic hosing at a car shop? Or do they need to be made to certain specification for my 323i? Is it possible to use the blue hosing that people often use on turbo induction systems? The local race prep shop sells this blue stuff by the meter. It is MUCH cheaper than buying genuine BMW hosing.

i think you can get silicone hosing for your car and i think it's much better than OEM because of cooling. you can always ask the race shop for advice though

All the pipes on my M42 are starting to go too and was thinking the same thing.

Some nice silicone hosing would be cool under there but was wondering would they all have to be made to suit in terms of all the awkard bends and reducing bore sizes etc or would it be possible to make some generic silicone hosing fit...

All the BMW hosing for the whole engine costs over 400 euro so might be a good way to save a little :)
M42 rightness above 6500rpm, nobody can hear you scream
