I hate anything like this going wrong. I don't mind anything thing spanner wise.
Anyone got an idea? It was working then all of sudden it went full blast and nothing else works on the switch.

I think that will probably be the resistor pack on the blower motor.
Was there a burning smell when it went to all or nothing?
I tried to find a pic of where the resistor is located but found this instead... http://e30.bmwdiy.info/blower-resistor/index.html
Hope thats of some use

But why has the resistor pack failed? Check that the blower motor isn't starting to seize up.
ive got a brand new heater resistor for aluminium inlets. the resistor ive got should be located infront of the heater motor should just slip in and out if you dont see it infront of the heater motor than your after a brown one which is located on the passanger side from the heater motor which the one i have will not fit yours and to get access its behind the glove box on the far right behind the panel.
thanks.
thanks.
