My brake pad Warning light is randomly coming on and off. Not too random, hit a bump, light comes on (sometimes) hit the dash with fist :hammer: light goes off (in the end :hammer::hammer::hammer:).

I have taken the dash out, but failing light tonight meant I had to put it back before it got too dark. If I tap behind the Rev counter it seems to affect it.

I have taken the bulb out for now as it is irritating.

Oh yeah, The pads should be fine as they were changed a month ago and I have checked the!

Do a search for "220 ohm resistor". Every E30 cluster I have ever looked at has had this problem, or the problem developing - except for one I looked at last Sunday, which was perfect.

All pads changed 800 miles ago, wear sensors are fine too!

Cheers Brian, I'll lookup that resistor.

Had similar problem on mine (light on all the time though). Mechanic at BMW Exeter with 30 years E30 experience ok'd all the brakes and identified the resistor - said it's a common problem.

Tee Hee, I'll be in Fareham at the end of the month, not sure the missus will be happy if I say "I'm just going to sort out someones dash, OK?"
