I've got to replace these soon but i'm not looking forward to getting them out of the hubs.
Has anyone got any tip's ?.

Take it and get pressed out is probably the best option, if they are really tight you will need to replace the bearings too as they will get trashed.
My friend's Celica GT took a 40 tonne press and a gas torch to get the front driverside shaft out of the hub.

take it off the diff and then give it a beating inwards! theres a depression on the end which u can use as a surface to hit on,,,, should come out

I've got a three legged hub puller and failing that a sledge hammer
Do you think it is worth heating the hub or will that ruin the bearings ?

just hit it.... they come out easily.....

they will come out fine like Karan said, just need the rear of the car at a good height and stable and u will be fine.
Beware the big nut which holds the driveshaft to the hub has a securing piece in front of it which rusts and makes u think u cannot get the socket on it! a screw driver flat head and a hammer will get this out.

How do u know they bust?! they are as good as gold on these cars and very rarly fail unless the boots get split on the CV joints

Yeah it has a plate behind similar to a lock washer that a screwdriver should sort out.
The shaft is on its way out as i found out the other day when the car rolled to a stop and i realised that the back of the car drops a bit as if the handbrake is on slightly.
I pulled it all apart to have a look because i also have the little rattle that is mentioned in another thread thats coming from the brake shoes.
I backed the hand brake shoes away to be sure and it still does it after the car has been driven for 5 minuets or so. When turning the hub by hand you can feel the CV joint is notchy and binding, also if you grab the centre of the shaft and twist it with the brake on there's a bit too much play for my liking, so i think it's time for some new ones.
I'm just wondering if i can get away with not changing the bearings as well.
As for them just popping out i was told a similar thing about a ford i did before and ended up braking a hub puller on it

Does one drive shaft feel dfferent from the other?
As Simon13 says, E30 driveshaft failure is almost unheard of. The chances of having two fail are very, very small.

It's just the one side thats notchy and now i've noticed it i keep thinking its getting worse. The annoying thing is the gaitor is not split and i don't want to remove it because you can't get the circlip back on without the right tool.
I'll replace the pair just as a precaution while i'm under it but i also have to do the brake hoses and the back box

what ice nboticed is the more powerful e30s have more pay in the drive shafts... i recently replaced my 2.7s ones as i think the torque-50-60lb ft more thn a a 325 was really hurting them.....
also i findthe prop UJs to be very notchy.....
