Hello everybody - I'm new, please be gentle with me :)

I've just inherited an F reg 325 auto. Only problem is that it has been sitting around unused for six months.
The engine was in pretty good nick before it was taken off the road so I'm hoping it will still be ok.
My question is - Are there any precautions I should take before sticking a new battery on and firing her up???
Any advice greatfully received.

check all the fluids, test the brakes and tyres etc before attempting to drive her.

be a good idea to change the oil too, or just add a small amount to the top end immediatly befroe starting her up, run to temp and the change the oil and filter.

some fresher fuel would be a good plan too mate, check the hoses @ the fuel rail have not perished too.
