Where does the red and black wire go to?

I've pulled out the multiway block from the drivers side a pillar, and this wire is well and truly screwed. I'ts melted all the back down the loom > down through the sill area > up and under the rear seat > onto where?

I want to rip the lot and and replace it. Where does it start and end? should i be looking any where else for this damn melted wire...

do you have heated door locks? that could have caused the wire to melt if the heated lock part became faultly

The red/black wire starts at fuse 27 in the fusebox and goes down through the big rubber grommet at the back of the glovebox. At the back of the glovebox thereis a soldered joint inside the loom with a branch going off to a couple of other things.
The wire goes all the way down the left hand cill, across the back seat, back down the right hand cill, and into the un neccessary loop in and out of the driver's door via the door pillar plug and socket.
When it comes back out of the door it goes to the interior light delay module socket, and then on to the locking module.
You can bypass it if you can find the joint at the back of the glovebox, and cut the wire that goes down to the cill, and then fit a replacement across behind the dash and down to the interior light delay socket, also cutting the wire that goes to the door socket.
The red /black wire also connects to pin H of the accessories socket (directly below the four pin radio socket).

Cheers Brian,

What were BM thinking about when they designed this damn loom !

The r/b wire has also melted at least 2 others wires next to it, i'm having to cut and test various parts of the loom to check for shorts.

probably going to go for the link behind the dash !

snip snip snip !

Probably makes more sense in a LH drive car.
